Handle design
317 KNIFE is available in two models; one with micarta grip and one G-10 grip. Both options give this knife a great look and feel. Although micarta will discolor over time, it offers a solid and bold construction. With either handle material, both handle exceptionally well in any conditions. my grip is good even when the material is wet, and the patina that micarta develops over time with use is particularly appealing to me.
Whether you are right- or left-handed, the 317 KNIFE is incredibly versatile. The contours are only on the side of the blade where my fingers rest when I use the knife. The back is uniquely almost completely flat. As for the exact reason for this design decision, I can't say, but interestingly, it feels excellent in the palm. Also, if you want to keep this knife on the table, the back will keep it stable and won't tip over. Overall a great and comfortable fit for any hand size!

Blade Design
The stars of this folding knife are the blades (especially my personal favorite, the short blade). Both blades are made of CPM S30V. CPM S30V is said to be one of the best all-purpose stainless steel blades out there. This stainless steel offers the best toughness, hardness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance. so I see this knife as a tool that will either accompany you to camp for a week or stay in your pocket every single day while you do your regular work and chores.

The clip-on blade performed beautifully in a variety of tasks, from slicing fishing line, to chopping food around the campfire, to cutting larger pieces of felt for the fire. However, the chunkier drop point blade is my favorite. It maneuvers beautifully in detail work. Where the blade design excels is that each one is perfectly centered and each one is as comfortable to use as the other. Each blade feels like it can easily be used separately from the other.

The blade of the 317 KNIFE can open a bottle, I'm glad I don't have to figure it out and have this bottle opener instead.
